Development of kaligesing etawah crossbreed goat in Purworejo Central Java Province

Abstract This study aims to analyze the development of Kaligesing Etawah crossbreed goat in Purworejo Regency through community-based resource management approach, with specific assessing condition related natural increase, examining role local government determining policy developing Purworejo, and recommending strategies approach. The method used was a triangulation methods which include observation, survey document study. results showed that social-demographic such as education farmers, ownership land were low level increase based on percentage births per year deaths 45. 51%. goats is Decree No. 188.4 1989 concerning preservation Goat, addition Minister Agriculture Republic Indonesia 2591 / Kpts PD.400 7/2010 dated July 19, 2010, determination Goat strain Central Java. recommended need be carried out are: strengthening farmer group terms maintenance marketing management, self-economic by establishing farmers’ cooperatives, market information centers managed groups or cooperatives make it easier for farmers obtain about selling prices, popularize recording livestock records so tighten entry breeds from outside region, ensure availability feed areas can grow crops processing forage crops.
